Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
At Core Medical Center, we are committed to giving you the best care possible. We have the experience and the results to confirm that certain conditions respond better with the addition of durable medical equipment (DME). For example, a brace can make the all the difference between a successful recovery and a failed treatment. The use of DME requires training and supervision when initially used. Our highly skilled and trained staff are able to fit, customize, and provide education and training to ensure your success.
What Is DME?
Durable medical equipment are reusable items that can assist you during your recovery period or while you are in treatment. Some equipment provides support and some provides correction. Many insurance policies cover the cost of medically necessary DME. Examples of DME include:
- Supportive or restrictive bracing for extremities, such as wrists, elbows, cervical spine, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, knees, and ankles
- Corrective bracing for scoliosis, hip unloading, knee unloading, kyphosis, and cervical hypolordosis
- Custom bracing: knee, AFO (for balance and support for neuropathy, as well as other conditions, TSO, LSO)
- Therapeutic devices: TENS unit and garment, cervical traction devices
